When you create a new project on Google Drive for Android, you have the option of scanning a document with your Smartphone Camera and converting it to a PDF.
The Google Drive apps for iOS and Android are almost about identical but the Android has an additional trick. When you create a new project on Google Drive for Android, there is also an option of Scanning your Docs. It’s an amazing feature that is really handy. This feature is worth that Google Drive offering us. Also, it’s a Time Saver and Economical as you don’t need to go to Cyber Cafes or to buy a scanner for the Docs to be Scanned out.
How to Scan Documents with Google Drive
- Open the Google Drive app on Android. The Scanning feature is not offered on iOS or Desktop version.
- Tap the”+” icon on the bottom right of the screen. A Pop-Up menu will appear.
- Select “Scan” option among all the six options available in the menu. This will launch the camera.
- Capture the picture of the printed document to be Scanned. Keep in mind it must be a typewritten or printed from a computer otherwise it will not be searchable on Goggle Drive.
- The Doc is scanned now with four options available- to Re-capture, to choose Color Theme, to Rotate picture and to Crop it.
- Save the document after entering some inputs i.e. – Document Title, Account and Folder Name.
- Now the Doc is Saved and Uploaded on Google Drive as PDF File.
